PCIM Asia Shanghai 2025 now accepting paper submissions

PCIM Asia Shanghai 2025 will take place from 24 – 26 September in halls N4 and N5 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Held alongside the exhibition, the PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference serves as Asia's leading platform connecting academia and industry in power electronics. In 2025, it will once again bring together renowned experts and scholars to share insights and foster collaboration between industry, academia, and research institutes. Paper submissions for the Conference are now open, with abstracts due by 4 March 2025.

As one of the most prestigious academic conferences in the power electronics industry, The PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference invites leading experts from around the world to share their expertise on the latest technologies and developments in the market. The event connects professionals throughout the industry, from technical researchers and product development engineers to company executives and marketing specialists, creating new opportunities for business development.

Describing its vision, Professor Leo Lorenz, Chairman of the PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference Advisory Board, explained: “The Conference covers innovations along the power electronics value chain, creating an international hub for designers, engineers, researchers and company decision makers to identify new market segments and define future avenues of research.”

With the call for papers now open, the 2025 conference seeks submissions on a wide range of topics, including:

  • Packaging and reliability
  • Passive components and integration
  • AC/DC converters
  • DC/DC converters
  • Digital power conversion
  • Motor drives & motion control
  • High frequency power electronic converters and inverters
  • Automotive power electronics and electrified transportation

  • Power quality solutions
  • Smart grid power electronics
  • Power electronics technologies for transmission systems

Key submission dates are listed below:

  • Abstract submission deadline: March 2025
  • Notification of abstract acceptance: May 2025
  • Full paper submission deadline: 20 June 2025

All submissions will be evaluated by the PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference Advisory Board. Selected papers will be considered for oral presentations or poster sessions, with accepted works published in the conference proceedings and indexed in Ei Compendex, IEEE Xplore, IET Inspec-Direct and Scopus databases.

Top submissions will be recognised through the Conference's returning Best Paper Award, Young Engineer Award and University Scientist Award, each with an accompanying prize. In 2025, the conference will also introduce a new Outstanding Poster Award and prize, honouring outstanding poster contributions.

PCIM Asia Conference 2024 in review
In 2024, the PCIM Asia Conference featured 104 presentations and welcomed a total of 981 professional attendees. Key topics included electric vehicles, charging stations, wide bandgap technologies and materials including silicon carbide.

Dr Ian Chan, a member of the PCIM Asia Shanghai Conference Advisory Board, remarked during an interview: “The event’s international exhibition and conference creates a space for academia, research institutes and industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore future development trends. It offers an important opportunity to drive innovation, improve efficiency and optimise costs.”

Speaking at the event, Mr Tian Fanghao, a PhD Researcher at KU Leuven, remarked: “The impact of this conference on the power electronics industry has been undeniably positive.
